How to Install BigKina on iPhone and Android

Step-by-step: install BigKina on Android with Chrome, add it to your iPhone home screen with Safari, turn landscape on, and fix a failed install.

Before you start

BigKina installs from your phone's browser, not from a store. The steps below take about a minute on Android and about the same on iPhone. You need www.bigkina.com, a little data, and the browser that came with the phone: Chrome on Android, Safari on iPhone.

Nothing here changes your phone's settings. You will not be asked to allow unknown sources, give an app special permissions or create a store account. If any site asks you for those things in BigKina's name, it is not BigKina (see is BigKina legit?).

Install BigKina on Android (Chrome)

Open Chrome and type www.bigkina.com in the address bar.
Wait for the start screen, then tap PLAY. Turn the phone sideways: the lobby is landscape.
Tap LOG IN or JOIN BIGKINA and sign in. A moment after you are in, the gold INSTALL BIGKINA card appears.
Tap the card, then tap Install on the small Chrome prompt at the bottom of the screen.
Chrome adds the BigKina chip icon to your home screen and app list. Close Chrome and open BigKina from the icon.

Missed the card? Open MENU in the lobby and tap INSTALL APP; it shows the same prompt again.

No prompt at all? Tap the three dots at the top right of Chrome and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. Either one works.

After installing, the icon opens BigKina full screen with no address bar, and Android treats it like any app: it shows in Recent apps and you can pin it to the bottom row.

Install BigKina on Android (Samsung Internet and other browsers)

Samsung phones often open links in Samsung Internet. It can add BigKina to your home screen too: open www.bigkina.com, tap the menu (three lines) at the bottom right, then Add page to, then Home screen. Opera, Firefox and others have a similar option under their menu.

The result is the same icon, but Chrome gives the best full-screen behaviour, so if you have Chrome, use it. To make Chrome your default browser: Settings, Apps, Default apps, Browser app, Chrome.

Install BigKina on iPhone (Safari)

Open Safari. This step only works in Safari; Chrome on iPhone cannot add apps to the home screen.
Go to www.bigkina.com and wait for the start screen.
Tap the Share button in Safari's bottom bar (the square with an arrow pointing up).
Scroll down the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
Leave the name as BigKina and tap Add. The chip icon lands on your home screen.

Opening BigKina from the icon runs it full screen. Turn the phone sideways for the lobby. If the screen will not rotate, open Control Centre (swipe down from the top right corner) and turn off the rotation lock (the padlock with a circular arrow).

iPad works the same way from Safari. The lobby is scaled up to fit the larger screen.

Turning on sound, notifications and landscape

Sound. Phones block sound until you tap something, so BigKina stays quiet until your first tap on PLAY. Music and effects can be switched off from MENU at any time.

Notifications. After your first log in and after a deposit, the app asks once whether it may notify you. ALLOW gets you a message when a deposit is credited, a payout is sent or a reward is ready. NOT NOW snoozes the question for a week. You can change the choice later in your phone's notification settings.

Landscape. BigKina draws the lobby sideways because pokies are wider than they are tall. If you hold the phone upright, the lobby rotates itself and asks you to turn the phone. On Android the app also asks the phone to lock the screen in landscape while it is open.

If the install does not work

No Install option in Chrome. Update Chrome from Google Play (older versions hide the option) or use the three-dot menu, then Add to Home screen.

The icon opens the browser, not the app. You added a bookmark instead of installing. Remove the icon and repeat the steps using Install app in the Chrome menu.

Nothing happens after PLAY. The lobby is still loading on a slow connection. Wait for the gold bar under the logo to fill, then tap PLAY. If it never fills, switch between Wi-Fi and data and reload.

The page shows an error about cookies or storage. BigKina needs the browser to remember you. In Chrome, open Settings, Site settings, Cookies and allow them. In Safari, turn off Block all cookies in Settings, Safari.

Private or incognito mode. Installing is not available in private windows. Open www.bigkina.com in a normal tab.

On iPhone the Add to Home Screen item is missing. You are in Chrome, Facebook's browser or Messenger's browser. Copy the address and open it in Safari.

Opened from a Facebook or WhatsApp link. Those apps open links in their own mini browser, which cannot install anything. Tap the three dots or the Safari/Chrome icon in that mini browser to open the page in the real browser first.

Tablets and computers

BigKina is drawn at phone size and scaled up, so on an iPad, an Android tablet or a laptop the lobby sits in the middle of the screen with a frame around it, every button the same relative size as on a phone. Install it the same way: Chrome's Install app on Android tablets and computers (Windows, Mac, Chromebook), Safari's Add to Home Screen on iPad. On a computer the keyboard and mouse work as you would expect, and the app's own keypad stays out of the way.

Removing or reinstalling BigKina

On Android, hold the icon and choose Uninstall, or Remove from home screen. On iPhone, hold the icon and choose Remove App, then Delete App. Nothing about your account changes: your balance, history and bank details live with BigKina, not on the phone. Reinstall any time with the same steps and log in as before.

Moving to a new phone? Just install BigKina there and log in. There is no transfer, backup or code to carry over. For safety, log out on the old phone first (MENU, LOG OUT, tapped twice).

What to do once it is installed

Install questions

Do I need a Google or Apple account to install BigKina?

No. BigKina installs from the browser, so no store account is needed.

Will Android warn me about an unknown app?

No. That warning is for APK files. BigKina is installed by Chrome itself, so there is no warning and no setting to change.

Why does it only work in Safari on iPhone?

Apple only lets Safari add web apps to the home screen. Other iPhone browsers can still play BigKina, they just cannot add the icon.

Can I install BigKina on two phones?

Yes, as many as you like; it is one account. Note that logging in on a second phone signs the first one out.

Does the app work offline?

No. Games need a connection. The lobby may open from cache, but you need data to log in and play.

Is BigKina on Google Play or the App Store?

No. The only way to get it is from www.bigkina.com in your browser.
